Two-Day IAP GPEN Workshop completed in Saint Petersburg

INsig2 lectures on digital forensics, digital evidence and Darknet

A two-day workshop was held in Saint- Petersburg by Global Prosecutors E-Crime Network of the International Association of Prosecutors, devoted to sharing professional experience on combating cybercrime.

INsig2 consultant Savina Gruičić participated with several lectures on subjects of digital forensics, electronic evidence and challenges related to investigation and prosecution of crimes committed on the Darknet. Savina spoke about principles and standards of digital forensics applicable to electronic evidence, setting up and running a digital forensics lab, criminal business models, investigative techniques on the Darknet and presented several case-studies.

During the workshop representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Russia and Croatia discussed theoretical and practical problems of fighting cybercrime, including digital criminology, gathering and application of electronic evidence, and use of crypto currency and Darknet for criminal ends.
